Terms & Conditions for
HUTTONS INNOVATION CHALLENGE 2022

1.      This campaign is organised by Huttons Asia Pte Limited (“Huttons”) which will be held from 21 April to 5 August 2022.

2.      To be eligible for the campaign, participants must:
(i) register via the Innovation Challenge landing page; and
(ii) be based in Singapore; and
(iii) if students, be studying in tertiary institutions.

3.      This campaign is not open to employees of Huttons Asia Pte Ltd, Huttons International Pte Ltd, Hastor Property Services Pte Ltd, sponsors or their immediate family members.

4.      “Participant” shall mean any eligible legal person who has registered to participate in any Challenge statement.

5.      Each Participant / Group can only be entitled to one prize regardless of number of entries made.

2.      “Group” shall mean a group of not more than five (5) Participants working on a single Submission. Each Participant can be in more than one group. Students forming a group should be from the same institution.

2.      For successful registrations, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address listed in the registration forms. Incomplete registration forms cannot be submitted and such applicants will not be registered for the Challenge.

2.      Participation in the Challenge is free of charge and no Participant shall be obliged to pay a fee or any other consideration to Huttons in connection with his/her participation in the Challenge.

6.      Participants shall email their submissions to Huttons by the due date indicated in the briefing deck. The submissions shall include native files as well as programming source codes (if any software/app forms part of the submission).

7.      Participants acknowledge that prizes are not transferrable.

8.      The final prize presentation will be held in conjunction with Huttons Annual Congress on 5 August 2022.

9.      The winners will be notified by email or any other methods of communication on the collection of the prizes within 30 days from the date of announcement of the winners.

10.      If the winners cannot be contacted or fails to claim the prize within 60 days of notification, uncollected prizes will be donated to a non-profit organisation of Huttons’ choice under their Corporate Social Responsibility Programme.

11.      Huttons reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions or terminate the campaign without prior notice at its sole and absolute discretion.

12.      Huttons’ decision in respect of all matters related to the campaign will be final.

13.      Huttons reserve the right to assess each Participant’s eligibility and compliance with the Rules at any point during the Challenge. Participants must promptly respond with any necessary evidence to verify their eligibility upon Huttons request. Huttons reserves the right to refuse entry to any Participant, and shall not be obliged to provide any explanations thereof.

14.      Huttons shall not be responsible for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any participant entering the campaign or as a result of entering the campaign or accepting any prize. Huttons is not responsible for any breakdown or malfunction in any computer system or equipment, any notice which is misdirected and/or lost in the post, or that results in an infringement of any law or regulation as a result of, or in connection with the campaign and/or redemption or use of the prizes.

15.      By participating in the campaign, the participants are deemed to have consented to the above terms and conditions, collection, use and disclosure of his/her personal data by Huttons to be used in marketing materials, including enabling Huttons to tag their photos and accounts on social media. They also agree and consent to the collection, use and disclosure of their personal data by Huttons and its associates for marketing communication purposes on the products or services available from Huttons whether related to the campaign or otherwise.

16.      Notwithstanding that the Participants may have registered their contact numbers with the National DNC Registry, the Participants are deemed to have consented to be contacted by Huttons and its associates whether related to the campaign or otherwise. These personal data will be processed by Huttons in accordance with its Privacy Policy available at www.huttonsgroup.com/privacy-policy.

17.      The construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Rules, and the legal agreement formed between Huttons and any Participant accepting these Rules, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules.

18.      Except where prohibited, Participants agree that any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Challenge or any Prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court in Singapore.

Intellectual Property

1.      All materials including software, source code, documentation, data, concepts and ideas (whether created or developed independently by a Participant or jointly with others) submitted to Huttons shall be made available for use to Huttons and the sponsors.

2.      Each Participant acknowledges and agrees that all Intellectual Property Rights contained within the APIs or SDKs that have been made available to the Participants to create or develop the Application ("Partner APIs") shall remain vested in the owner of such Partner APIs.

3.      By making a Submission, each Participant acknowledges and agrees that Huttons may obtain many submissions in connection with this Challenge and/or other marketing initiatives or challenges staged and/or offered by Huttons (“Submitted Ideas”), and that such Submissions may be similar or identical in theme, idea, format or other respects to other Submitted Ideas or other materials developed by Huttons or its agents. Unless prohibited by law, each Participant waives any and all claims against the Huttons Group (presently or in the future), that any Submission and/or other works (including videos) accepted, reviewed and/or used by Huttons or other Participants may be similar to his/her Submission, or any compensation that is due to such Participant in connection with such Submission or other works used by any entity in the Huttons Group.

4.      Each Participant hereby grants to Huttons Group and their sponsors a limited non-exclusive, royalty-free license (“Limited License”) to access and use the Idea Submission.

5.      Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, each Participant acknowledges and agrees that Huttons and its sponsors may use, incorporate or disclose any ideas or concepts related to the Submission now or in the future in any manner, and each Participant waives any and all claims that may arise against Huttons Group or anyone else participating or otherwise attending in this Challenge for such use or disclosure.
